Horse Chestnut Oil
The Horse Chestnut tree, Aesculus hippocastanum is native to Asia and southeastern Europe and particularly Albania, Greece and Turkey. The fruits of the Horse Chestnut are leathery, spiny capsules containing one to three large seeds. These seeds are not edible by humans. The seeds have antioxidant, antirheumatic, analgesic and astringent properties as well as having a strong anti-inflammatory activity due to its saponin contents. Thanks to the vasoprotective effect of Horse Chestnut extracts, extracts can improve the circulation through the veins. The seeds are used for treating varicose veins, hemorrhoids, and swollen veins. Horse Chestnut extracts have venotonic activity and they improve circulation through veins [1,2].
