Flax Seed (Linseed) Oil

The seeds of the Linum usitatissimum, known as flax,  have long been used in human diets as a source of oil. The oil obtained by cold pressing method from flax seeds, which contains about 36 to 40% of oil,  is  the  richest  plant source  of  polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), which are essential  for  humans.

The major fatty acids found in Linseed oil are alpha-linolenic (omega-3) and linoleic (omega-6), oleic acid, palmitic and stearic acid.  Linseed also contains vitamin A and beta-carotene and lignans, which are antioxidants.

High content of polyunsaturated fatty acids makes this oil oxidize rapidly. Keep Linseed oil  in dark, airtight containers, if possible, in the refrigerator [3].

Directions:

 Linseed oil can be used alone or blended with your other favorite base oil.

This oil is edible and also excellent for hair and skin.

This oil is suitable for all skin types, ideally suitable for dry, dehydrated, sensitive, irritated, dull or mature skins.

Topically,  It is used in cosmetic and massage applications with its softening, revitalizing nourishing and regenerating properties. Thanks to its Omega-3 and Omega – 6 fatty acid content, It helps prevent the skin aging process and maintain the skin’s elasticity and suppleness.

This oil is ideal for dry, dull or fragile hair. It works as a scalp and hair moisturizer, hydrating hair follicles from the inside out.

Suggested Uses:

Use Linseed oil as a base oil in massage mixtures to use on irritation, dermatitis, and cracked skin to help relieve itchiness, flakiness, and inflammation.

• If you are pregnant or lactating, please consult with your doctor before using any product containing essential oils.
• Do not use it internally, unless directed by a licensed Aromatherapist or Physician.
• Not suitable for children.

Storage Conditions:

Store oils in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
